Wardrobe dimensions
The wardrobes in our catalogue are 62 cm deep and 218-226 cm high. The depth is not accidental: the shoulder width of a hanger is about 55 cm, and at a depth under 60 cm clothes touch the door. The height, with modules close to the ceiling, lets the top shelf be used for seasonal items.
How many wardrobe doors are needed?
A practical measure is about 100 cm of hanging width per person. On that basis:
- One person: 100-150 cm (2 doors)
- A couple: 200-250 cm (3-4 doors)
- A couple + seasonal items: 300 cm and over (5-6 doors)
The number of doors is not a fixed product feature; it is determined by how many modules are placed side by side.
Hinged or sliding?
A hinged door needs another 60 cm in front of the wardrobe when opened, which can clash with the bed in narrow rooms. A sliding door removes that requirement but keeps only half the wardrobe open at a time. If the room is under 10 square metres, or the bed is closer than 80 cm to the wardrobe, sliding works more comfortably.
The corner module
Corner wardrobe modules make use of the dead space where two walls meet. They are harder to reach into than a straight module, so they suit things used rarely rather than everyday clothes.
Interior layout
A hanging module is for shirts, jackets and dresses; a shelf module for folded clothes; a drawer module for underwear and accessories. In a balanced wardrobe the ratio of hanging to shelving is about half and half. The type and dimensions of each module are written out one by one on the product pages.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are standard wardrobe dimensions?
The wardrobes in our catalogue are built from modules. The height is 215-226 cm and the depth 62-68 cm. The width depends on the number of modules: single-door 42-50 cm, two-door 85-100 cm, three-door 128 cm, four-door 171-173 cm and a six-door run 262 cm.
How deep should a wardrobe be?
The internal depth needed for clothes to hang straight is about 55-60 cm; because the shoulder width of a coat hanger is 45-50 cm, clothes touch the door in wardrobes shallower than that. The wardrobes in our catalogue are 62-68 cm deep; the Rams 4-door wardrobe, for example, is 173×68×215 cm.
How high is a wardrobe?
Our wardrobe modules are 215-226 cm high. In a room with a 240 cm ceiling, a 215 cm wardrobe leaves about 25 cm of space above it. Measure your ceiling height before ordering and make sure there is clearance at the top.
What are the dimensions of a corner wardrobe?
Corner modules have a square base: the Rams corner wardrobe is 94×94×215 cm and the Grande corner wardrobe 90×90×225 cm. A corner module makes use of the dead space where two walls meet; because it is harder to reach into than a straight module, it suits things you use rarely.
How much space is needed in front of a hinged door?
Because the door width is 42-50 cm, an opened hinged door needs roughly 60 cm of clear space in front of the wardrobe. If the bed is closer than 80 cm to the wardrobe, or the room is under 10 square metres, sliding doors work more comfortably; a sliding door removes that requirement but keeps only half the wardrobe open at a time.
How many cm of wardrobe does a double bedroom need?
A practical measure is about 100 cm of hanging width per person; a run of 200-300 cm is enough in most homes for a double bedroom. With the dimensions in our catalogue that means adding a single-door module (42-50 cm) to a four-door wardrobe (171-173 cm), or building a 262 cm six-door run.
