Pouffe

The pouffe is the most flexible piece in a living room: it works as a footstool, turns into extra seating when guests come, and stands beside the coffee table as a decorative volume. You can choose the same fabric as the sofa set, or deliberately a different texture, to create movement in the room.

Pouffe or bench
A pouffe seats one person and is light; it can be lifted and moved with one hand and tucked under the coffee table or beside the sofa when not in use. A bench is a long seat where two or three people sit side by side. The benches with listed dimensions in our catalogue are 172 x 51 cm for Nobel and 165 x 50 cm for Massimo. Having no arms or back, they can slide fully under a dining table.

Choosing the size
For pouffes and benches used as seats, a comfortable seat height is 40-45 cm, the same as a chair. As a footstool, it should be level with the sofa's seat or a few centimetres lower. A bench beside a dining table should be 20-40 cm shorter than the table so it fits between the table legs. A bench at the foot of the bed should not be wider than the bed frame; with a 160 cm bed, a 140-160 cm bench looks balanced.

Materials and care
The Bergama Pouffe has a matt, leather-look covering in a tan shade; its stain-resistant surface is cleaned with a damp cloth. The benches use suede-textured, patterned and plain fabric seats, with black lacquered frames and gold-coloured metal sled or tapered metal legs. If you spill something on a fabric seat, blot it with a dry cloth rather than rubbing. Felt pads under the legs protect parquet from scratches.

In the living room as a footstool and extra seat; in the dining room as a bench on the long side opposite the chairs; in the bedroom at the foot of the bed as a place to sit while dressing; in the hallway as a place to put shoes on.
