Furniture Before Christmas 2026: When to Order from Turkey for Delivery in Europe
Short answer: If you want made-to-order furniture from Selishome at your door in Europe before Christmas 2026, place your order by Monday 16 November 2026. Most pieces we send to Europe take about 3 weeks to make and about 1 week to reach your door. We plan every Christmas order to arrive by Friday 18 December at the latest — a full week before Christmas, so there is time to assemble and set everything up. Our Granada, Massimo and Velora bedroom sets are in stock: no production time, so they can be ordered until Friday 4 December. When you order, we confirm your delivery date in writing.
Christmas is when the dining table suddenly has to seat ten, the sofa has to hold the whole family after dinner, and the guest room finally needs a bed. The problem is that good furniture is rarely sitting in a warehouse waiting for you. This guide tells you when to order, what to order first, and how to avoid the classic December disappointment.

How we calculated it: we want your furniture at your door by Friday 18 December, one week before Christmas, so assembly never becomes a Christmas Eve job. Counting back 3 weeks of production and 1 week of delivery gives 20 November; we added a few days of buffer for order confirmation and payment, which gives Monday 16 November.
These dates are for Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Switzerland and Bulgaria. For countries outside the six main ones (for example Italy, Spain, Poland or the Nordic countries), please ask us for a date before you order, because delivery there is arranged individually.
What to order first
If you are furnishing more than one room, order in this sequence:
- The dining table. It is the piece that matters most on the day. Our extending dining tables are made to order, so they belong in the first wave. An extending table gives you everyday size for most of the year and room for guests at Christmas; see how extending tables work and how many they seat. The Capi is round when closed and oval when opened; the Como has an oval-lined top with soft corners, which is comfortable when the room is full.

Sizing the table for a Christmas crowd
Most of the year you might be four at the table; on 24 or 25 December you might be ten. That gap is exactly what an extending table is for, but only if you size it for the open length, not the closed one.
- Count elbows, not plates. Allow roughly 60 cm of table edge per person, a little more if you like to serve family-style with dishes in the middle. Our dining table size guide has the table for 6, 8 and 10 people.
- Check the legs. A single central pedestal, as on the Valencia or Bugatti tables, lets chairs pull up anywhere along the edge; four corner legs fix where the corner places are.
- Round or long. A round table that opens to an oval, like the Capi, keeps everyone in one conversation. A long rectangle seats more people in a narrow room.
- Leave room to stand up. Keep space behind each chair when the table is fully open, and check the open length against the room, not just the closed size on the product page.

Five ways to miss Christmas (and how to avoid them)
1. Waiting for November deals. A discount is worth less than a table that arrives in January. For made-to-order pieces, the calendar decides, not the campaign.
2. Not measuring the way in. A sofa that does not fit the lift cannot be fixed in December. Measure doors, stairs and the lift before ordering; our measuring guide takes ten minutes.
3. Choosing the table without counting chairs. A six-seater table does not become a ten-seater because it extends; check the open length and the chairs you have. Use our dining table size guide.
4. Changing the order after it is placed. On made-to-order furniture, a change to fabric, size or set contents can change the delivery time, as the product pages note. Decide before you order; if you are unsure about a fabric, ask us first.
5. Leaving assembly to the last evening. Sofa sets need no assembly. Tables, chairs and TV units go together with a small cordless screwdriver. A bedroom set is a bigger job, so talk to us before ordering about assembly at your address.
Delivery, customs and payment in brief
- Delivery: included in the price for Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria and Switzerland; 80 € per m³ (included) for Bulgaria; estimated about 200 € per m³ for other European countries, confirmed after the order. No delivery to the UK.
- Customs and import VAT: handled by our logistics partner. Nothing to pay at the door.
- Minimum order outside Türkiye: 80,000 ₺ in products.
- Payment: by card, in Turkish lira; the euro amount shown is approximate.
- Damage in transit: our responsibility. Open the packages with the driver, note any damage on the CMR and send photos within 48 hours; we replace the damaged part free of charge.
