Double Bed Sizes: Is It 150x200 or 160x200 cm?
Short answer: the standard double bed size in Turkey is 150×200 cm, and the most popular size is 160×200 cm. In small rooms 140×190 and 140×200 cm are sold as "narrow double". 180×200 cm is called king size and 200×200 cm super king. The number that really decides the choice is the width per person: 75 cm on a 150, 80 cm on a 160, 90 cm on a 180 and 100 cm on a 200. Sizes are always written as width × length.

150×200 or 160×200: which should you buy?
The 10 cm between them is split in two, so each sleeper gains 5 cm. It sounds small, but for an adult with roughly 45 cm shoulder width it is felt all night.
- Choose 160×200 if you are both adults, if one of you turns a lot in their sleep, or if the room is over 12 m².
- Choose 150×200 if the room is under 12 m² and a 60 cm walkway will not be left along the long side of the bed.
- Drop to 140 only if a 150 does not fit; 70 cm is the practical lower limit for two adults.
King size and super king in Turkey
"Queen" and "king" are international sizes, and local production does not match them exactly. A US queen is 152×203 cm and a US king 193×203 cm; here sizes are made in multiples of ten. In practice 160×200 is often labelled "queen", 180×200 is king size and 200×200 is super king, where the mattress becomes square. On imported goods read the centimetres, not the name: two products labelled "king size" can be 180 cm and 193 cm.
Double divan base sizes
A base is made exactly the same size as the mattress: 150×200 for a 150×200 mattress, 160×200 for a 160×200 one. Only the height changes:
- Storage base body height: 33-40 cm is common.
- Mattress thickness: 22-32 cm, so the total comes to 55-70 cm.
- Easiest to get out of: base + mattress between 55-65 cm; over 70 cm is hard for shorter users.

Which double size fits which room?
One test decides it: once the frame is in place, leave at least 60 cm of walkway along one long side, and 90 cm in front of the wardrobe for the doors.

Double duvet cover and sheet sizes
- Double duvet cover: usually 200×220 cm; the same set works on both 150 and 160 cm mattresses.
- King size duvet cover: usually 240×220 cm, needed on 180 and 200 cm beds.
- Fitted sheet: written as mattress size + thickness (160×200+30); a 25 cm sheet slips off a 32 cm mattress.
