Single Bed Sizes: Is It 90x190 or 100x200 cm?

The rule is simple: leave at least 10-15 cm between the sleeper's height and the length of the bed. On width, 90 cm is the comfortable lower limit for an adult; 80 cm only makes sense in a child's bed.

Yes, 100×200 cm is a single — catalogues list it as a "wide single". It is not enough for two adults: split 100 cm in two and each person gets 50 cm. The practical lower limit for a couple is 150×200.
The cost of choosing it is 10 cm of width and 10 cm of length in the room; in a narrow teenager's room that can eat the walkway in front of the desk. The size with the widest choice of ready-made bedding and fitted sheets is 90×190.
What size is a single bed base?
A base is made exactly the same width and length as the mattress: a 90×190 mattress sits on a 90×190 base, a 100×200 mattress on a 100×200 base. All a base adds is height.
- Storage base body height: 33-40 cm is common.
- Lid direction: single storage bases lift in one piece; leave 80-90 cm of clear space on the side it opens.
- A base is not a bed frame. The base goes under the mattress; the frame wraps around both.
