1. Dimensions: reach for the tape before you buy
- Measure the room's wall lengths skirting to skirting; draw in the door and window positions.
- Mark the positions of sockets, radiators, air conditioning and the TV cable — these restrict where furniture can go.
- Leave circulation space: 70-90 cm for the main route, 40-45 cm between the sofa and the coffee table, 90 cm in front of a wardrobe.
- Compare the item's narrowest cross-section with the building door, the lift and the staircase.

2. Materials: what decides the lifespan, not the price
- On a sofa: a solid hornbeam/beech frame, 28-35 density in the seat foam, and for home use at least 15,000 Martindale rubs in the fabric.
- In panel furniture: body thickness, edge banding workmanship, the door surface (lacquer, laminate, natural veneer).
- In mechanisms: soft-close hinges, full-extension drawer runners, extending table and storage base mechanisms.

3. The seller: which information is stated openly?

4. Price: mind what you are comparing
When putting two quotes side by side, write these lines under the price: pieces included, dimensions, frame and panel material, foam density, fabric group, transport and installation, delivery time. 5. Timing: what does made-to-order production mean?
Most furniture is not a ready warehouse item; once the order is placed the frame is built, the foam is cut and the fabric you chose is upholstered. So:
- Read the stock status label on the product page; the difference between "in stock" and "made to order" is measured in weeks.
- Changes to the contents of a set change the production list and can affect the date.
- If the moving date is fixed, plan backwards from the item with the longest lead time.

- Open and close every door, drawer and mechanism one by one.
- After assembly, make sure the wardrobe is fixed to the wall.
- If anything is missing or damaged, photograph it and report it at the moment of delivery.

- Turn the cushions every 2-3 months so that sagging does not gather in one spot.
